heart spasms

I have been diagnosed with heart spasms. I have had 7 in 9 years. The spasms are far apart 4 months, 7 months, 3 years. There is no warning signs. The first 6 spasms I just waited for the pain to go away but the last spasm - my heart was beating fast, couldn't breath, right arm numb, blood pressure 200, spent the night in the hospital - all tests normal, went to Cardio DR. his blood tests & 24 hr heart monitor - all came back normal. He then diagnosed me with heart spasms and gave me the nitro spray. My question I have a long distance car trip, I will be miles, possibly hours before a medical vehicle could get to me if I needed them. Can I totally depend on the nitro spray or I should I not put myself in this situation so far from medical help?

I think the most important thing to know is whether the nitro will work for you.  You haven't given it a chance to yet, since based on what you say, this was just recently prescribed to you and you have not had any symptoms since.  Granted your symptoms aren't that often so the likelihood that they will reappear anytime soon is low, however, not zero.  I think you have to use your judgement.  The likelihood that the nitro will work is relatively high.  The other option that you have is to be by on a calcium channel blocker such as amlodipine or nifedipine which actually prevent the attacks from happening, especially if they become more often.
