help figure out what's up with me----- i have a heart murmer but prolly something else also

by mikestar91, Aug 06, 2009 04:33PM
Hi I'm 18yrs old, male, 6'2" 170lbs

can someone explain to me in detail the values on the tests and what the normal values

are and what might be up with me

... the heart doc ordered a series of tests the last one due in 2 weeks and i can't

make  the appointment until i have all these tests done
so i guess it's gonna be in like 2 months or so but i can't wait i have to know what's up now
the sooner the better

also it's always good to have asecond opinion

*****************************

I had a high BP at a general checkup
so the doc sent me to a cardiologist
I don't have diabetes or high cholesterol
i play sports like 3 times a week

i sometimes have palpitations not too often

AND someteimes -like twice a month- i have such palpitations while playing sports where my heart rate sudennly - from one beat to another - goes up like 50 beats per minute and i feel kinda weird and it lasts
up to one minute and im trying to calm down and then it corrects itself and i go on just
okay through the rest of the game

i also have GERD/acid reflux (for like a year now)  associated with a lot of belching
and sometimes when i feel like i have to burp i feel a similar preessure/sensation in my
chest/feel like im gonna have these palpitations, but eventually i dont
*************************************************

FIRST I HAD THE EKG DONE:
blood pressure 150/80
heart rate 95/min
heart murmur, left parasternal 1/6

EKG: 95/min, R/S V4, PQ 132ms, QRS 96ms, QTC 418ms, without repol. changes, without ectopy

conclusion: Arterial Hypertension st. susp, sinus tachycardia

then the heart doc ordered these tests:
i) blood test: complete, ASLO CRP, TSH
ii) ECHO
iii) thyroid/endocrinology

blood test and ECHO are already done... but i didn't get the results of the blood test

HERE is my ECHO

Aorta: V max 1.3m/sec
ascend aorta: 30mm

Left atrium: 40mm
Right ventricle: 28mm
IVS: 10.5mm
Left ventricle: 51mm
Left ventricular posterior wall: 10mm
LVEF: approx 70%
Mitral valve: Peak E: 1.4m/sec
              Peak A: 0.5m/sec
Pulmonary valve: V max: 1.2m/sec
              AT: 120ms
Tricuspid Valve: V max: 0.6m/s

Pericardium: without separation

conclusion: Heart cavities undilated, aorta undilated, AoV tricuspid/trisected, LV

without LVH, global systolic and diastolic function sustained, (while resting): without

segmental kinetic defect, mild mitral and tricuspid insufficiency

appreciate any help
