hemochromatosis & congestive heart failure

I have been diagnosed with Hemochromatosis.  My Doctor had a genetic test done and it came back with a positive mutation of the gene C82Y and H63d.  I am 48 years old, I was diagnosed with CHF and diabetes last year, and my liver enzyemes are up and down.  I am constantly tired, and have achy bones.  This was the first time I had ever been tested, (I have no history on my biological father, mother never has been tested, but has no symptoms.  It seems that the treatment is fairly simple, yet now that there is damage to my organs, I am told we will just try to keep it from progressing further.  I had a pace maker put in a month ago, since my HR was only working at 38-40.  I am not overweight, used to drink alcohol, (sometimes more than I should have) I used to smoke.  I am on coreg and lisinopril, lasix, synthroid, and levothroid.  They have been trying to tritrate my coreg and my lisinopril for the last several months.  I am way under what a normal dose would be and my blood pressure is very low.  (has never been high) I am scheduled to see a gastroentologist tomorrow.  Everything I read seems to point to a hemotologist.  What do you think?
by the way kidneys are good, and my elecrolites are tested every week.

Thanks!

Hey there.  Sorry to hear of all you're going through.  It sounds like you're on the right track.  Hopefully things can stabilize from here.
