holy cow!

I just got out of the hospital after being in severe respiratory distress (pulmonary edema).  It was scary.  I had the symptoms, but thought I had a chest cold.  Now I have diagnosed with Acute decompensated heart failure with left bundle branch block and an ef of 30%.  My question is - why don't I feel real ill?  As a matter of fact, after I quit all salt, put on lasix and take my meds (coreg and cardivil) I feel pretty darn good. A little short of breath maybe.  They have ordered an angiogram, which scares me.  Is it really risky and why am I not feeling worse?

Good for you! Some of us feel better sooner. I did too. I was in the hospital for2 weeks with pulmonary edema, heart faliure, cardiomyopathy, 20% EF. Few months later went 35%. Year later 45% ...next was normal .Don't be afraid from the angiogram, it is an important test. You are not feeling worse, because you are a strong person, still take it easy, your body needs to relax more for a while .
