hot flash & bulging veins

by Ralf, Jun 20, 1998 12:00AM

I get very easily hot flashes and bulging veins on my head. I need only to
bend my head a little forward and emidiately the veins are pupping up on
my head, especially on the right tempel. Is it a sighn of high blood
pressure and poor physical condition ? Do I have a weak heart ?
Do I have to be concerned about it ?

Thank you for your help !

Dear Ralf, thank you for your question.  Hot flashes in a male are unusual and
are non-specific so I don't have a good answer as to what could be causing them.
As for your veins bulging, that is also non-specific. Neither symptoms suggests
that you have a weak heart nor poor physicial conditioning. Signs of a weak heart
would be chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, weight gain with swelling in the
ankles, chest pain, and poor exercise tolerance. However, I would need to do a
thorough history and physical of you to truly conclude that all is well.  Therefore,
I suggest that you see your physician to discuss these problems and to receive
a thorough physical examination.  I hope this information helps.
