Hi,thanks for taking time to answer this question I'm an 18yr old
femaleCondoms
Female condoms
Female sexual dysfunction, height 5'5'' weight 135lbs.
A few months back at a doctors appointment i was told my BP was high 150/100, it was re-taken a few days later and was 140/80
pulseNeck pulse
Pulse
Pulse - bounding
Pulse - weak or absent
Radial pulse
Takayasu arteritis
Taking your carotid pulse was 120BPM, my doctor took bloods which came back
normalNormal saline flush.Over a few weeks i had a further 2 BP checks which were 145/95 and 150/95.I had an
ECGEcg
Electrocardiogram (ecg)
Exercise stress test
Post myocardial infarction ecg wave tracings which came back
normalNormal saline flush. My doctor referred me to a cardiologist, at my appointment my BP was 165/100 but i was nervous.I had an Echo,
ECGEcg
Electrocardiogram (ecg)
Exercise stress test
Post myocardial infarction ecg wave tracings, chest x-ray,blood and urine tests which all came back normal although my echo results said turbulant blood flow but valves appear to be clear and open , could you please tell me what this mean ?
The cardiologist said I may have white coat hypertension which makes sense as no-one else in my family has or has suffered with high blood pressure and i'm only 18 and all my tests have came back normal but even though I was nervous at that appointment i have not really been nervous when getting my other BP checks , I just wanted to know if its possible to be feeling anxious withought actually 'feeling' so?
For a few weeks now I have also been ''feeling and hearing'' my heart beat which has been very strong at rest i've not mentioned this to my doctor as my echo and ecg results were fine so I was thinking its nothing to be concerned by , am I right ?
Thanyou again.

He did not put me back on HBP after my heart attack. Should he have - I don't know.. But, I NO longer have that doctor anymore and I am presently being treated for HBP. No one in my family had it - except ME..
If I had to do it again - I never should have taken the birth control pill to begin with. Things might have been different - although I did have rheumatic fever as a baby that was never diagnosed properly..
But I'm talking about my blood pressure systolic being over 200 and distalic over 100 !!! That's very high.. at any age.. I think the birth control pill did it to me.. Just my opinion..

When i was first diagnosed with HBP back in january i was really overweight. I was 5'11 300 pounds and thought hey my blood pressure is high cause of the weight. Turns out i lost 55 pounds but only on diet. I dont get enough exercise but now i am because these 2 pills keep it from getting so high while i exercise. I hope i can lose more weight about 45-60 pounds and have more exercise in my life but if that doesnt help i would say my life is done.
SO if you smoke stop, don't drink alcohol, and watch your diet. Eat alot of Fiber, and exercise.
GOOD LUCK!
marilyn thanks for that information and you too knicks30 good luck with your hypertension and weight loss stick in there !!
Well a week later when she got the results she paid up! I had low blood pressure! DON'T WORRY
Geez, some people here would have an 18 y/o on 10 meds or giving them a full panic attack! How irresponsible
I believe your suppose to take it after you've sat still for 15 minutes in a chair - and then you check it. I have my own bp machine at home and it does the cuff pressure automatically.
I also bring my bp machine to my cardiologist office once a year to check for accuracy.. I can't see 'taking' meds without knowing for 'sure' you need to.. Of course like anyone I can't see taking meds unless you need them. But if your BP is HIGH then you needs meds. Of course, alot of these BP meds can have a terrible effect on your sex life !!! Which I'm sure no one wants to have happen..
Best Wishes

To rule our hypertension or should I say "rule in" white coat, use the 24 hour ambulatory machine from a hospital (free in my case).
They fit you with it at the hospital and every 15 minutes (i recall) it goes off. It may startle you at first but you get use to it. It measures your entire day and night while sleeping. You will be surprised at the results.
I sometimes take my pressure myself but since it's so low I don't much anymore.
Good luck
