Global hypokinesis indicates an impairment to heart wall movement that is usually caused by some heart cell damage. The underlying cause is often ischemia (lack of adequate blood supply to the cells) due to blockage and/or partial blockage of the coronary vessels.
If the cause is ischemia, therapy can be medication (dilate vessels), open narrow vessels with a stent implant, or open-heart surgery with a by-pass. None of the treatments available are a cure...the treatment may provide relief from any symptoms such as chest pain, etc.
Sometimes with proper treatment of ischemia the heart cells can be revitalized and heart wall impairment can be corrected. With more info regarding test results and medical history, perhaps a better response..
