hypokinetic posterior wall

hypokinetic posterior wall

Just came back from results of echocardiogram with these findings: LVEF changed from last year was 55% now 50%, LVh  12-13mm. Posterior Wall Hypokinetic . What does this all mean? I am 45 yrs old with significant family history of cardiac dz. Both paternal grandfather and father deceased by age 46 yrs... Presently on Benicar 20mg Qd for hypertension. Recently occasional extra beats felt or skipped beats felt with sense of anxiety/impending. Sweating more and more. At times discoloration to extremities ( blueish) No shortness of breath noticed. Have never had any chest pain. Cardiologist booked ETT MIBI.... r/o CAD.... Can anyone give me some info? Thanks

LVh slight enlargent of the left ventricle.  Normal EF is 55 to 75%.  Posterior Wall Hypokinetic (some muscle impairment at location described) and that could account for almost normal EF.  An EF is only an estimate of the heart's contractility, so if there is some muscle impairment it is slight.

A bluish discoloration would indicate a blood flow deficiency.  Can be related to diabetes or some other vascular disorder or blockage.  No shortness of breath or chest pain may indicate no coronary artery blockages, but not always.  Also no symptoms would indicate your heart's pumping ability (50%) is meeting your system's demand for blood/oxygen.  Take care.
