i have alot of gas but cannot belch and it is painful

ever since i can remember, even way back when i was 12 (im 34 now) i have always been able to pass gas..in fact i have quite an abundance of it...however, i do not and can not belch....my stomach always feels bloated and i am in constant pain....i dont have any problems when it comes to passing gas to relieve some of the pressure but everyone i know finds it odd that i cannot belch at all and i have such an excess of gas constantly....i am guessing something isnt right with me and was wondering what it could be and what i should do about it....im always uncomfortable and have finally decided to do something about it...also, it doesnt matter what i eat or drink ( i dont drink any carbonated beverages in fact) and i dont get any better/worse from drinking milk ( so i assume not lactose intolerant)....again, what can it be and what can i do?

Hi, i have been having the same problems as you are, I was also diagnosed as having acid reflux but the medicine didnt help me at all. I would also feel pain in my abdomen and it would circulate to my right side until the pain goes to my back. And I would belch but it feels like the gas in my stomach is endless.

I had an ultrasound and I was found to have multiple gallbladder stones. Try to ask your doctor for the possibility of stones. That might also be the problem.

I too have suffered from the same problems for the last 10 years.  I have been treated for stomach ulcers, acid reflux, Irratable Bowel.  I have had numerous endoscopy and colonoscopy examinations to no avail.  I had a two year period where my symptoms all but disappeared but they have come back again for no apperent reason.  My doctors are now saying it may be something I have to live with.  I am at the end of my tether.  Can someone please help us????

My daughter has the exact same problem except that she can't pass gas either.  Her stomach always sounds like a babbling brook and sometimes it gets very angry!  I bought her Malox anit-gas pills the other day hoping that they work.  She always gets pains around her chest and abdomen.  The doctors don't think it's any big deal but it is very painful for her sometimes.  So, I too, would love some advice in this area.
