i think my doctor diagnosed my condition wrong.

Hi. In Christmas of 2006 i woke up in the middle of the night with unbelieveable chest pain. I didnt want to worry my parents so i kept it to myself as the day went on it gradually got weaker. Since then i've been having heart pulpatations and alot of chest pain. The doctors done an EKG and a chest x-ray. They said that everything was showing up normal. So they sent me back home to deal with this by myself. I have been going back all year long and they dont do anything.about 6 months later i was taken to the hospital in the middle of the night because i had really bad chest pain. they hooked me up to the heart monitor for an hour but again nothing was found. So the doctor made an appointment for an EchoGram of the heart. AGAIN nothing was found. its now 2008 and i still have this problem. When i get these attacks i cannot breathe. the more i breathe the more the pain strengthens. I can not move. These attacks only last for about 2 minutes but they are very scarry.  Their mainly in the left chest area. Since ive been having these attacks i like sleeping because when im asleep i dont feel anything but lately ive been waking  up alot with the pain when i turn over on a different side. I was to the hospital again last week and had a chest examination done. She found a spot around my left breast area that i found tender so now she thinks my chest pain is 'Costchronditis'. She has prescribed 400mg of Ibuprofen 3 times a day and ranitidine. It doesnt seem to be helping. My main question is; ive been on websites about costchronditis and they say that a doctor can not diagnosis this until they are positive that its nothing to do with the heart. Have the doctors done all they could to prove this?  I need help.. I really think that if this is not figured out soon something might happen to me.

See a Cardiologist.  If he/she also cannot find anything then you could be suffering from panic attacks.

As for the Costochronditis was the area painful when you touched it?  If yes, then you probably have it.  I never heard that chest pain due to cardiac reasons hurt when touching the chest.
