Congratulations on all of your success! The "no meds" is a huge deal. In fact I have never heard of this before!
Don't you know that bad dreams increase our heart rates? I cannot imagine a heart rate of 90 bpm waking me up. This is not that high of a heart rate at all while sleeping.
Do a search on sleep studies and see where some's heart rate swings wildly, like from 135 bpm to 60 bpm or more.
