irregular heartbeat

Sometimes, when I take my blood pressure, my monitor detects an irregular heartbeat.  Does anyone know what this means? I have AFIB and am being treated with Sotalol and Coumadin, but when I see this symbol on my blood pressure monitor, I am not in AFIB, so I don't know what this irregular heartbeat is.  If anyone has similar experiences, please provide feedback.

Thanks,
roxiejean

hi,I have had the same problem, but my doctor saidot to be concerned if it was only for a few seconds.
he also said to monitor what I was doing prior to taking my blood pressure that might cause an irregular beat.
i find if I sit down to quickly, i get an irregular beat, then if i wait a few minutes and take it again it has gone away.
i also have post surgery a fib,am on 100mgs amiodarone a day.
i don't know if this is the same situation as you,but this is what i found out. God Bless-Polly
