is this medicine safe for me to take?

I am 48 year,s old my bp runs 15o/114 pulse about 100 sometimes higher.YES ia need to lose 60 pounds.My question is I have been told i have  right bundle branch block,My MD ordered atenolol ***@**** to know if this is safe for me.Iam a LVN and I don,t want to insult my good DR.When i read about it it say,s i shouldn,t.I also take otc  sudafed 30mg qd ONLY.I know that raises it but all others like claritin ectdo,t work. My Md advised me to stop sudafed.Can someone  answer me about rbbb/verses atenolol thankyou.

Your BP is way to high especially your bottom #.  Why don't you take the atenolol and see if you have any side effects, lots of people take it and have no side effects.  Give it a try, you can always stop if side effects.  The side effects of untreated high BP are much more serious and severe.

Sudafed is a no, no for people with high BP why don't you take "Coricidin HB" that is a OC decongestant for people with high BP.

Your BP might even go down once you stop the sudafed.  If your MD advised you stop it then you should.
