is SVT congenital and can it occur from mental stress?

my 10 year old daughter suffered frequent episodes of SVT off and on since October, 1999 and she was referred to a paediatric cardiologist. on the examination table the H/R increased from 125/min to 250/min. ECG showed SVT at 250/min. Vagal manoeuvre failed and with I/V Injection Adenosine 4.5 mg (flushed with 10 ml. of N. Saline) - successfully reverted to NSR at 125/min. No WPW.
Subsequently my daughter was referred to a hospital in New Delhi, India and there through a successful RF ablation for  SVT in concealed left free wall accessary pathway, my daughter is now cured. there is no restriction on her physical activities. she is attending her school and other daily activities. The following questions keep on bothering me:

Is SVT congenital and was it present in my daughter all these years? there was no symptoms and she was perfectly ok till the first attack of SVT in October'99.

Is SVT in any way related to stressful mental conditions? my daughter was very anxious and fearful for some reason when she suffered the first bout of very rapid heart beat.

Yes, she was probably born with this tendency.
Stress can trigger SVT in a susceptible individual, but I do not think that was the case with your daughter. More likely, she became anxious after the SVT started.

Hey Arup.  I'm curious about the name of this hospital in New Delhi.  I have been suffering for the past eight months from A FIB & Tach without any _real_ difference with meds.  Are you in North America and if so, what was it about the New Delhi hospital that you felt was better than treatment here???
