hi, i had my ECG taken and the result says "Left ventricular hypertrophy by voltage, old inferior wall myocardial infarction, and septal wall ischemia".. what does it mean?

LVH by voltage means that the EKG detected an enlargement in the walls of your left ventricle by way of measuring the electrical impulse. Old inferior wall myocardial infarction means it detected an area of that part of the heart which contains some damaged heart msuscle from a previous heart attack. Septal wall ischemia means that the septal wall portion of your heart muscle, I believ the wall between your left and right ventricle, is not getting adequate blood flow which should be causing some type of chest pain or change in your EKG.

Have they ordered a Nuclear Stress test or Angiogram for you? That's usually the next step to confirm or dismiss the findings of an EKG, which is not always the most accurate way to dx conditions like this. These findings could be accurate or the result of a bad lead placements during the EKG. You will need some follow up testing to know for sure.
