labile hypertension

I have a regular blood pressure of about 135/65 taking 5mg.of benazepril. Occasionally it will go to 215 /100. Other than taking another 5mg of benazepril ,is there something else to do? With additional medicine on a daily basis my pressure may drop to 108/56.

I suggest that you need a second medication such as a diuretic to control this labile hypertension. Hydrochlorothiazide is first choice for people with hypertension, but there may be other medications indicated depending on your medical problems.
