Murr,
I don't mean to alarm you but there are many people that have Long QT Syndrome that were misdiagnosed as having epilepsy. If I were in your shoes I would contact www.sads.org and find an experienced Electrophysiologist (heart rhythm specialist) that is familiar with Long QT Syndrome. There is an internet support group for Long QT on Yahoo Health Groups that is very good for information as well. For alot of people with Long QT they seem to have seizure-like activity when theyt have an arrhythmia and this leads most doctors to diagnose Epilepsy. Long QT Syndrome is treated with betablockers and usually respond quite well to them. Your whole family needs to be assessed.

I should also comment that chest tightness and pain are also symptoms that some people with Long QT Syndrome experience. It could be nothing, but it is definitely worth checking out. Does your family have a history of fainting or seizure disorders?

The fact that your son had t wave abnormalities and a borderline Long QTc of 446 I would suggest that maybe he have some further investigations done by an electrophysiologist. 430-450 is borderline for a man. Is your son very athletic because his heart rate is lower than normal.
