left ventricle enlargement in a 17 year old

my 17 year old son develop chest pain and couldn't get his breath and his fingers and feet went numb and he became dizzy.  he was at foot ball practice when this occurred. he is 6ft 2in and weights 275.  he has been doing weight lifting since december of 2009. he has never complained of chest pain or discomfort. the only medical condition he has is asthma.upon entering er his ekg was normal and so was the blood work the only thing that was abnormal was the chest x-ray.  my question is what caused this and what is the treatment for this and will he be able to continue palying football?

Absolutely no football for now.  He needs an echocardiogram to assess his heart size and function and to rule out a condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
