left ventricular hypertrophy

my mother 57 yrs old has got mild lvh .she is a know hypertensive since 15 yrs. she had been taking blokium and zevour diu (diuretic ) before but now the docter has changed her prescription .she is taking coversyl plus  (diuretic  an ace inhibitor) n is having exssive dry cough .so plz i want to ask that should she continue with this drug as its good at bp contro despite the cough side effect or should she switch over to adventic( arb n diuretic ) and norvesc ( calcium channel blocker).
and plz my other concern is that her echo values  are normal except left side IVS 13 mm ( normal 7-11 mm) .does that means she is at risk ??

If the dry cough is related to the medication, the doctor may change or reduce dosage.  
An IVS size is an estimate, and may be in the normal range when considering the margin of error.  

When a heart wall enlarges it may become stiff, and the lack of elasticity may reduce the filling capacity of the left ventricle, and/or lose contractility force.  Either of which condition the cardiac output can be reduced causing symptoms of chest pain, shortness of breath, etc.  I don't believe your mother's IVS, is a size that would be problematic.
