left ventrucal disease

My 14 yrs old son has to have a echocardiogram on 11/11. I am very worried. I really dont understand what the problem could be with his heart. In my family there is genentic heart disease and I am worried that my son may have something wrong. Is there anyone out there who can explanin to me what this is all about. according to your post, but you mention left ventricular disease why?.Understandable as your worry is please try to hold on as your stress will only worry your boy more.
Genetic disease is not always passed on generation to generation,it can skip one or even two generations sometimes only one sex is affected, also it would be more helpful if you stated what symptoms if any he was having to prompt such an exam.
