by monnie123, Nov 07, 2009 09:17PM
I had a heart cath perfomed yesterday.  My leg is hurting really bad and my foot is tingling.  I have taken 4 extra stregth Tylenol within an nine hour period and no relief.  Is this normal?

I've had five or six heart caths, and looked up the post procedure information... it is clear that if you have pain or lower leg/foot sensations you should report it.  Being the weekend, I'd urge you to go to the emergency room of the hospital.  The worry is a blood clot, I'm thinking, and a blood clot is indeed a bona-fide worry.

I wouldn't delay, I'd get it examined at once.  Once the issue is resolved, I hope you let us know what happened.

It is probably worth getting this looked at, as Flycaster correctly says. A blood clot can be very serious indeed. Apart from restricting vessels in your leg, it can break free and end up somewhere life threatening.
Leg pain can occur after an Angio procedure and my fifth one my leg was very stiff and painful to move. I also felt slight tingling in my foot. I gave it 24 hours from the procedure and then did a lot of gentle walking which really helped with the problem. I must emphasise the word 'gentle' though.
