likelyhood of arrhythmia being dangerous

likelyhood of arrhythmia being dangerous

I have had a lot of test ran on my heart due to the fact that I have a pain syndrome that seems to focus mainly in my chest, jaw, tongue and arm area.I also have sarcoidosis that showed on a ct scan of chest.I don't have any tender points to be diagnosed with fibromyalgia. 1 1/2 years ago I had a stress test with scans and was told it was normal.1 year ago I had a ultra sound of heart and holter monitor and was told I have benign pvcs and pacs.In february I had a heart cath and was told my arteries were clean as a whistle.I've been told theres no reason to worry about any pain or tightness I have in my chest as being my heart. Sometimes I have a fluttering like heart beat that I will be aware of all day.And sometimes it seems like my heart will flutter for days in a row. This did not happen when I had my holter monitor. The last time I had a doctors appt. the night before I happened to have my heart flutter all night and I had pain in the middle of my chest.  an ache .My doctor decided to use an event monitor for 30 day.I have spells that this stuff will happen and then it won't happen for some time. It  didn't happen when I had the event monitor on.I have been told that most irregular heart beats are nothing to worry about and they only treat them if they really bother the patient because the medication is more dangerous than the irregular beat.  My quetion is what is the liklehood of an irregular beat being dangerous?  What are the different kinds of irregularities and which ones of dangerous? It doesn't happen often is it safe to assume that these spells are not dangerous?

Arrythmias

You describe  a fluttering sensation in the chest associated with chest pain. You have had a number of diagnostic tests which include a normal heart catheterization and echocardiogram, along with a holter monitor test showing PVCs and PACs. The PVCs and PACs may account for the sensation of fluttering in your chest and your chest pain. The sarcoidosis may also cause this as well. Though, I am not sure of the cause of your symptoms.
However, given your normal heart catheterization, normal echo and no documentation of any rhythm problem other than PVCs and PACs by event monitor, you are at very low risk from the stand point of your heart. You also report having sarcoidosis diagnosed from a chest CT. It is possible that this may be the cause of your symptoms. If if does involve your lung, this may be the source of your discomfort. Sarcoidosis may also involve the heart, I would therefore recommend continuing to follow-up with your doctors to monitor the progression of your disease. Hope this helps.
