Hello Everyone,Thank-You all for the posting.Just to answer some of the questions:First I haven't been sick,Last year My blood pressure was a little high.I was taking my blood pressure at walmart so I went to see the dr and it turned out to be fine...
I don't have any   palpitations, However because I have put on weight this past 5 years, My heart does feel funny , sometimes/
My family Dr( had 10 years) never found the murmur.I was going in for a operation , at the pre-op , the dr there told me about the murmur...The operation didn't have anything to do with my heart..
I, Just don't know why this happening now( I really think its my weight)and the dr said this can happen to women who gain weight..My dad had a heart attact early 50 and triple bi-pass two years ago.I will take everyone advice and I will try not to worried.Thank You all for the help .

hi there, i was told that i had a heart murmur as a child & it went away as i got older.  the doctor told me they are usually harmless... i know its really hard not to worry.  i am your age & having to deal with tests for palps i've been getting, its hard.  this forum is great & has helped a lot. try to be calm and take care of you... i'm sure the test will be just fine :)

Hi and welcome.

Try not to worry about the echo.  I know that's not easy.  When you're young and the doctor says he is sending you for "heart tests," your mind starts to wander.  There are lots of types of murmurs and some are quite harmless.  I have a murmur because of a leaky mitral valve.  My daughter also had a murmur for pretty much the same reason, and hers has since resolved.    Have you been ill lately?  Sometimes, heart murmurs can be heard more loudly when people have been sick (flu, colds, dehydrated).

Do you get palpitations with your murmer??  My doctor told me at one point she heard a murmer and then the next time she said she didn't?  I get palpiations as well and just curious to see if you did?
