low BP and pulse after thyroid replacement

by m27, Jun 20, 2009 02:54PM
6 weeks after starting Levoxyl (same thing as Synthroid) my blood pressure decreased, my heart rate decreased, I am more lightheaded and more depressed and tired.  Anyone else experience this? I have an appt w/ my Dr soon because of my symptoms.  It's weird cuz usually thyroid hormone will increase your BP and heart rate.

This discussion is related to LOW BLOOD PRESSURE WHILE TAKING SYNTHROID.

Yes I have taken Synthroid before and had the same symptoms. Increased depression, moody, weight gain, lightheaded, and bp decreased. My doctor switched me to Armour Thyroid, I no longer feel depressed, lightheaded, or moody but my BP is still low. I think it takes time I've only been on it for a month.

Good Luck
