Dear sir, Madam,
I'm writing this message from the Netherlands and I have a lot of questions to ask. I hope you can help me in my queste for answers.
Case: 39 y/o
femaleCondoms
Female condoms
Female sexual dysfunction.
TrigeminalTrigeminal neuralgia neuralgiaCluster headaches
Neuralgia
Trigeminal neuralgia(typical) since 1985.(medications:
TegretolDrug rash, tegretol
Tegretol
Tegretol xr and tryptizol 25 mg (amytriptilene) BP fluctuating sometimes very high. Since beginning this year coming down from 200-130 to 3 weeks ago 155/95. Last time measured at
cardiacCardiac catheterization
Cardiac tamponade
Left heart ventricular angiography emergencyEmergency airway puncture
Emergency contraception care two days ago 180/110.
Diets: Saltless and cholesterol poor.
Family history. Mother 65 y/o:bypass, after having four stents placed and it failed. Brother 40y/o heartattack last spring. Uncles (my mum's side) died from heartfailure. Aunts still alive.
Last fridayevening I was hospitalised for having severe chestpains (probably angina)at the cardiac emergency department. Testresults there: heartfilm: No heartattack ,but there is definatly something wrong. They could see that. It's probably concerning the artery's. Next week many more tests will follow.
Lungphoto's : good. Sugar levels: Too high (13.7?) : Leukocytes: too high :trombocytes: to high. BP 180/110 , cholesterol: 5.6 trycl?: too high. 2.3 I think? it was. many things happened at that moment so I cannot recall eve
every rate too well.
Anyway,I was allowed to go home with a lot of medications and under a lot of restrictions. Medications I got home with me to prevent other heartpains:
Ascal 100: (carbasatum calcicum)-Selokeen ZOC 100 betablocker
(metropolol succinaat) and Isordil (isosorbidedinitraat)and Renitec. (enalapril)
I have been using Atenolol(betablocker) in the past for the high BP and I had terrible side reactions from that. No breath and very very tired. I hardly couldn't walk the stairs anymore.
I was taken of that medication and they put me on Renitec. An ACE inhibitor. I still have to continue using that one also. No need to say I'm not very much functioning. I'm very very tired, I'm sweating if I do anything and gosh I can hardly lift my arms writing this because I'm so extremelu tired in my muscles and body. I'm again completly without breath but I have to say I don't have heart pain right now. The cramps have stopped for now.Happy to say.
Last friday they sprayed me nitroglycerine under the tongue a couple of times and this cause a lot of pain in my head and more important it triggered Trigeminal neuralgia pain quite a lot. TN pain is very very painfull and not helping the bp levels.
My questions.
1: Is it possible I have these horrible TN pain effects from those medications .(TN pain triggered, especially with using the nitromedication?)and if so how can this happen and more imprtant can this be prevented in the future?
2: Tegretol is affecting the liver badly. Has to be checked out regularly.Do the new medications make this problem worse?
(I took all theTN and BP medications with me to the hospital)
3 Will there ever be a change that I will get of the heart medications again?
4: Are there other heartmedications that will not produce the massive side effects to my body. Being without breath and extreme tiredness.
5 If not, do you get ever used to the side effects from those medications, just as Tegretol does.
6 Is there a way to break the BP circle I am finding myself in? Pain causes a high BP, BP is also due to the fact I am following my genetic inheritance.
Are there any suggestions here? Can I do other things besides following diets?
7 Do the heartmedications interact with the TN medications?
that they aggrevate the side effects like being tired, being dizzy etc etc.
I have a lot of questions flying around in my mind, but this is also due to the fact this hospitalisation/heartproblems happened so recently. Next week I will have to undergo a lot of tests to locate the exact problem.
A friend pointed this website out and I hope you don't mind I border you with my questions. I really want to get wise about this because as it seems now I don't have a winning deck of cards in my hands.
Thanks for any input/help/wisdom you can give me at this moment.
Yours sincerely
Henriette
