*massive* heart attack

Please explain the difference between a *massive* heart attack and a regular old heart attack.  They tell me Dad died of a massive heart attack.  Does this mean there wasn't anything anyone could have done to prevent death?

Dear Kathy
A massive heart attack means a big heart attack. This is the sort of heart attack that unfortunately kills people. Heart attacks are still the leading cause of death, as well as sudden death ("no warning"). It sounds like there was nothing that he or anyone could have done. You should take precautions regarding your own cardiac health, as heart disease tends to run in families.
I hope this has been useful. Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck.
