Ever since my triple bypass surgery, I felt like my sex life is getting worst and worse. My wife and I are getting farther apart as far as sex. I would love to go back to do our love and sex as we used to have before. What do you reccomend, what can do? Is it cause by some of the heart medication? What I need to take? Please help.

Many people suffer this problem when on beta blockers. These are needed to keep your
heart from over working. However, I don't believe they really test the dosage properly in many cases. I was put on 5mg daily which doesn't sound much but it made me so lethargic that I became glued to the chair. After much arguing with the Cardiologist he
agreed we could gradually drop the dosage until I felt uncomfortable and then slightly increase it again to find the optimal level. We started at 2.5mg and reduced over a two
week period to 1mg where I felt too short of breath. We upped it to 1.25mg and this was
perfect. My sex drive returned and I was able to find the energy to do many simple jobs.
It doesn't take your cardiologist to go through this exercise with you, your GP will be
good enough.
