what does minimal invasive heart surgery mean? Is it a shorter cut in the chest or is it under the breast?

I suppose it depends on what's being done. A friend of mine needed a new heart valve and was hoping for a minimally invasive procedure. That would have meant some smaller incisions through the rib cage instead of having her sternum cracked open. Unfortunately she was not a candidate for the m/i type. But she got her new valve and has recovered nicely. Just had to do it the hard way.

That's what I'm facing. Aortic valve replacement. Sounds like my cut will be in the chest only a shorter cut
