mitral valve prolapde

I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse about 4 years ago.All this time i have been taken tenormin for the situation.For about the past 3 weeks my chest seems to be pounding again and sometimes i feel like im having trouble breathing.Also I have been having frequent bowel movements,it seems when my chest is pounding,and then the pounding subsides.Is this normal with mvp,or could it be the medication isnt having any effect any more.Thank you

Your symptoms are not normal. The fact that they have changed warrants a re-evaluation by your doctor. Thyroid function testing would also be appropriate.
