mitral valve repeat surgery

my husband had mv repair last may due to rheumatic dz and severe regurg.  he was having sob and dizziness.  now 1 yr later is leaking worse than before and now has mild pulmonary htn.  now is having cp, sob, feels like heart quivers sometimes and sob when lying flat.  what are odds of another surgery being successful and what are risks of doing surgery vs doing nothing

It is difficult to give the exact odds of another surgery being successful. However, it is likely safe to say that the perioperative risks and technical challenge increase with each repeat open heart surgery. In order for your husband to have the information to make an informed decision, he should be evaluated by a cardiologist and a cardiothoracic surgeon.
