mitral valve replacement

i was recently diagnosed with mitral valve stenosis and severe regurgitation.  I had an appointment this past friday with a cardiologist at cleveland clinic where i was told that i had to have a new valve put in.  my question is will i have to have the traditional open heart surgery for this or will they be able to do a minimally invasive surgery and in both cases how long will it be before i will be able to go back to work full-time as my job does not honor work restrictions.
