hello. my echo came back normalNormal saline flush, my heart is structurally healthy. something to breathe a sigh of relief about. i will see my ef this friday and my cardio reallywants me to go thru with an ablation. my question is why cant i just go thru with a pregnancy even if i'm having 20,000 pvc's a day? if they are benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo they will only be a nuisance, right? my cardio does not want me on a betablccker while pregnant bc i have issues with low blood pressurePressure ulcer, this i understand is a big danger for the baby, so i wont take betablcokers. i am afraid that i will go thru with an ablation and it might not work or my pvc's could become worse(and then what?). when you were pregnant did your pvc's increase and what did you do? were your babies healthy and okey? i believe my ep only has done 3 ablations on people with pvc issues and only two were successful but i think i have the option of doing it with my ep and a team of ep's at columbia presbyterian (nyc), which is a pretty good hospital. where did you have your ablations done? i am doing pretty well on a small amount of toprolToprol-xl right now which is suprising bc it has never worked for me before, perhaps my body chemistry is different off of birth controlControl Control rx. thank you so much for all of your input. i really appreciate it.
Congratulations on your echo!!! Talk frankly with your cardio about your plans to have another baby and ask how the potential ablation will affect your plans. I'm not sure that 3 pvc ablations would be enough for me to feel comfortable. Maybe your doctor is concerned about a developing cardiomyopathy?? I would definitely ask why the ablation before the pregnancy (given they are benign).
Prior to my ablations, my BP would usually be 100-110/55-65. Since the ablations it went up a little so my cardio put me on an ACE inhibitor b/c of a leaky valve and my arrythmia history. For awhile it was running 85-105/48-60...YIKES....I was sooo tired! She adjusted the RX and it is not quite as low. Not sure about the BB being dangerous for the baby as I did take them part of my pregnancies. However, they may know more today about the effects of BB's on pregnancies. Not sure.
Columbia is a good hospital : ) I think my EP may have trained there during residency and she is great! I have a cardio at CC, but the ablations were done at MetroHealth in Cleveland. It was actually strange to be in NSR after having pvcs for so long. Good luck with your appointment!! Keep me posted....Remember to talk frankly with your doctor about your questions, concerns and hopes to have another baby.
thanks a lot for your input. i will visit my ep on friday and will express all of my concerns. i think this time i will write down my questions bc i alway seem to forget everything as soon as i get in the dr's office. thanks again and i will keep you posted. -betsy
