It's been there 5 months, so it's obviously not going to go away.  I don't know if an MRI would show soft tissue tumors or cysts, I know ultrasound does.  I googled "swollen calf with pain" and what keeps coming up is a "Bakers Cyst" found only thru ultrasound, not detected by MRI.  Also, the only way to totally rule out a clot is to have a test called a Venogram, or venography.  You may want to request both the ultrasound and the Venogram.  But google what I did and you will find a lot of info on this.

Did they say that you had 100% blood flow to that particular leg?  This is odd, and I can understand your frustrations!  But your leg doesn't swell for no reason.  Is it sore?  Have they ruled out a cyst or tumor?

You cannot "will" your body to swell, something is wrong, you just need to find the appropriate doctor to find out what it is.
