multifocal PVC's

Last week I felt an increase in the amount of "skipped heartbeats" I was feeling (several a minute), and since I also have Polymyositis which can potentially cause heart rhythm disturbances, I thought it best to be checked ASAP at the hospital.  My Troponin levels were .08 and rechecked a few hours later .05.  EKG was normal.  Cardiac monitors showed multifocal PVC's, although by this time they were not coming as frequently.... of course.  One doctor felt I had to be admitted... he was saying I needed to begin heart medication, throwing aspirin at me, and was scaring the life out of me.  Another doctor was not such an alarmist and seemed more aware of autoimmune issues.... he said that my Troponin levels were not really indictitive of anything as they were borderline.... AND furthermore being that I also have an inflammatory muscle related disease which causes an elevation in CPK (360 is my normal for several years now)... could be a cross sensitivity occuring with the tests as well.  Neither doctor said much about the PVC's being multifocal.... although the nurse brought that to my attention... and now I am a little concerned.  I actually feel mine are hormonal as they began with the onset of perimenopause and I notice they act up at certain times of the day like clock work.... and lesson or disappear during excercise.  Still, multifocal worries me.

So my question is, could someone tell me the statistics on how common multifocal PVC's are in relation to unifocal? I understand that PVC's are quite common, but most people simply generalize that they have "PVC"s.  I'd also like to hear from anyone who has been dealing with this type.
