From the very onset of use of statin drugs for their powerful cholesterol lowering effect, muscle aches and pains reflecting possible underlying muscle inflammation....Lipitor and Vytorin most probable.

Some doctors don’t believe that statins can cause side effects such as muscle or joint pain or memory problems. Others have seen so many cases they have developed different strategies for lowering cholesterol. If your doctor isn’t taking your complaint seriously, you may need to see another doctor.

If you are on statins, the muscle and joint pain could be related to the statin you are taking.  Let your doctor know, so your doctor can switch your statin medication.
