myocardial bridge

my father had an angiography 3 years back because he felt he had shortness of breath for sometime. they discovered he has a bridge. they gave him a beta blocker concor 2.5 mg. Now the symptoms returned so upon calling his doctor he told him he may augment the beta blocker. his pressure is 120/80 so no problem also the arythmea is little, i.e. only the shortness of breath which he suffers. upon asking the doctor whether there is an operation for that he replied that it's not recommended because the patient will not benefit from it.

what is the procedure for such case. his heart echo test is ok but it's the shortness of breath which teases him. Also what is the future prospects if he leaves it like this. it says on the internet sudden death. what advise is given in this situation

There are procedures which can be done, I'm shocked at your cardiologist saying this. Is there something else about the heart which you have forgot to mention?
If his heart is healthy apart from this problem, and medication isn't helping, then there are three basic options.
1. Stent the vessel under the bridge to make the artery more stiff and less prone to being
    squashed. It depends on the thickness of muscle covering the artery and how far the
    bridge goes down the vessel.
2. Bypass surgery to provide a continual blood flow past the bridge.
3. Surgery to cut the bridge and free the artery from compression.

To not have brought these options to light, I would think maybe there's another underlying problem? Is the artery beyond the bridge very diseased? Is there a lot of damaged heart tissue?
