Usually the most common cause of myocarditis is an infection of the heart muscle by a virus. The virus invades the heart muscle to cause local inflammation. COPD has no connection to bacteria or virus it is an infammatory response caused by noxious particles or gas, most commonly from tobacco smoking, which triggers an abnormal inflammatory response in the lung.
