dear doc
I'm a male , 20yrs old , muscular slightly obese body , 100 KG weight , 178 CM tall ,normal BP, my lipid profile is

cholesterol  150 mg/dl
LDL 111 mg/dl
triglycerides 85 mg/dl
HDL 22 mg/dl
triglycerides/HDL ratio 3.863


i fell well but I'm afraid from complication of low HDL

sometimes i feel pain in LF upper  part of the abdomen take about 2 minuets .

my Questions are
1)is it dangerous
2)solution
3) can i increase my HDL without medication (food ,sport...etc)

thanks for the post.

I calculated your bmi to be 32, which puts you in the obese category.  

For now, your main focus should be on exercise and weight control to decrease your overall risk in the future.  Your risk of events is very low in the short term, but action now will decrease your long term risk significantly.  I also wouldn't focus too much on your cholesterol numbers and place your priorities on lifestyle changes that can be maintained for the long term.

Incorporation of a healthy lifestyle can modify your cholesterol panel.  Both weight loss and exercise can have this effect.

The other absolute for someone your age is tobacco abstinence.
