not sure who to ask??

not sure who to ask??

First of all I wasn't sure under which topic I should post my question, so I hope this is where I should do it.

I'm female, 40 years old, 3 children (11yr old and 10 yr old twins), healthy up to two months ago.  Sept/08 got two colds back to back that made me feel very tired and took a long time to recover from them, until I got put on antibiotics for 5 days.

During this checkup my Dr. noticed that my blood pressure 140/100 was high and that I was anemic, I got put on 300mg of iron 3x/day, blood work showed everything else was normal.  I continued going to check my blood pressure which remained high.

I started developing other symptoms like headaches, dizziness, and very fatigued.

I am used to working out 3 1/2 hrs per week and this became very hard to continue, I started dropping my excersice routines as I was not feeling well.

I should add that I have never smoked, nor I drink alcohol, don't drink coffee but I do drink 1 to 2 cans of coke most days.

During one of my workouts I felt quite sick, within 2 minutes of just starting my heart beat was at 140 so I was told by the nurse there that I could not return until I got the ok from a Dr.

I went back to my doctor with this info, she checked again and my blood pressure was still high 138/104 pulse at 98.  She sent me for an ECG that showed nothing but she sent me to a cardiologist anyway.

The cardiologist sent me for a 24 hour Holter monitor that is 'inconclusive' so they are re-reading it and might send me for another one.  I also got an MIBI test done where during the stress test part of it my blood pressure went to 200/120 with my pulse at 166, they saw I had gone into V-Tach and stopped the test, I felt awful during this test, chest pains, shortness of breath and VERY scared.

My cardiologist now said that I have a left bundle malfunction, where under excercise it stops working but it resumes at rest.

He is sending me now for an Echo as the pictures in the MIBI test showed everything normal.

My day to day routine is being affected, I can't go not even one set of stairs without my heart pounding and having shortness of breath, at night I cannot sleep on my back or my left side as the pounding of my heart makes it very unconfortable as well as it is harder to breath, sleeping on my right side it's ok.

I do get chest pressure without doing anything to trigger it.  My blood pressure continues to be high 144/102, the other day I woke up to 166/112, my heart beat at rest is around 90 to 100 a few times it has dropped in the 70's range.

I have not been put in any medication at all.

Could the high blood pressure be causing my heart to beat so hard and for this left bundle to stop working during mild excercise?

I want my life back but not sure if this Echo test is going to find anything.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Karin

First of all, call your doctor to let your doctor know what your blood pressure is currently.  Ask why you are not on blood pressure medicine?  Take it easy until after the echo results are in, just as a precaution.  Your blood pressure is high and you have an increase risk of stroke from your high blood pressure.  Take care of yourself and if your blood pressure is high, rest until it goes down.
