not urgent??

I was found to have one Carotid Artery blocked at 95%, the other at 50%. Was having signs of mini strokes..My doctor is sending me to a surgeon, but how long should I wait until surgery, so I can get better? I'm thinking it's because I have no insurance...I'm not getting any better sitting here waiting..;))

I believe that the greatest risk is your likelihood of a full blown stroke, which of course can be life threatening. A TIA (mini stroke) is usually considered a warning sign by Doctors that something needs to be addressed. I assume they have given you medication to help lower the risk of a clot forming? such as aspirin?
