now off Imdur

by judy__0__0, May 14, 1998 12:00AM

My husband has been off of Imdur for almost three weeks now--it was giving him terrible headaches and his doc decided to take him off--but he is still having terrible headaches.  They are not as daily and sometimes not as severe but he is really suffering.   They haven't put him on anything to replace the Imdur as yet.
He is also very fatigued all of the time.
Is there something else going on here?  This (daily, severe headaches) is unusual for him and only started around the time he began taking Imdur--but they won't let up completely.

Dear Judy:
The effect of the Imdur should definitely be out of your husband’s system by now.  The headaches are concerning and are almost certainly due to some other, potentially serious, cause.  You should inform your husband’s doctor right away and have the headaches further investigated.

Information provided here is of a general nature.  Specific diagnoses and treatments can only be made by your doctor.  If you would like to be seen at the Cleveland Clinic, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE for an appointment with a cardiologist at Desk F15.
