nuclear test

I am 48, 255 lbs., ride 15 to 20 miles per day and/or run 2 to 3 miles per day.

No history of chest pain or shortness of breath in any form at any time.

Non-smoker.

History of high LDL and high HDL with, total cholesterol 185 to 215 w/in past year. Last HDL test 49, LDL 119.

Long history hypretension, but controlled w/ monopril. Take 81 mg aspirin and 40 mg lovistatin /day.

Long history abnormal EKG (right bundle branch block)

High stress occupation (trial atty).

Recent VA nuclear test indicated blocked coronary artery (left descending). VA doc prescribed nitro and a beta blocker until angiogram completed.

Q: What is the likelihood of a false positive? What is the % of false positives from your experience.

     My first nuclear scan suggested problems, but with a second follow up exam, the pathologist changed her mind and suggested there were no problems.  I have had two since, and still no problems indicated.  
    Would the VA allow you to have a 64 slice CT scan to image your coronary arteries.  The gold standard is angiogram, but the CT scan is quite accurate and is noninvasive?
