pain after quadruple bypass

by accessdeclined, Nov 04, 2009 05:44PM
i am 46 and have had a quadruple bypass 6 months ago as i had severe heart disease which i have had for 3 years i had a angiogram 3 years ago and was told i would have a bypass 3 days after the angiogram but i had a heart surgeon tell me that the amount of heart disease i had that the chances of living were less than  10% and would have nothing to graft to. so he had me on medication till i had a angiogram 2 weeks before the bypass this year,  i had three main ventricles blocked one 100% blocked and 2 that were 80% blocked and the surgery wes a success but i woke up with numbness in 2 of my left hand fingers and from the wrist down to my elbow,  but over the months since i have  had pains that are in my left shoulder and in my left chest area and in my left wrist but also have pains in my right arm and in the right wrist for the last month, the pains are waking me at night from my sleep and come and go at different times during the night or day only the chest pain and left wrist is always there. i have just been to a nerve doctor yesterday that says it is complications from diabetes,  and not from surgery,  could this happen ?

Hi

I can't say anything to help you really as i don't know, but just to say i do care.  I hope someone answers your question for you.

I take it you still have to see the cardiologist regularly and still get regular tests to check the health of the coronary arteries?  As i say i don't know a lot about this but I would hope that you are still seeing the cardiologist and that s/he has discussed this with you.

As long as that is being done then i would go on to check with other doctors, such as a nerve doctor.

All the best!  :-)
