palpitation??

palpitation??

Hello, I expierence hard beats very often, when I stand up, when I
run, or when I sit. Not so long ago I had several heart tests because
the pain caused by reflux was thought to be a rheumatic heart disease.
But everything turned out very good.
So I thought I had palpitations, because I feel hard beats, but I was told
that after an extra beat the heart rhythm resets, but my rhythm doesn't
change, but some contractions are heavier.
Are they something else than palpitations?

Dear Tom
It sounds like palpitations, but a Holter monitor should answer the question.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.

I am 52 years old.  I suffered from panic attacks for a few years.  My doctor had me on buspar for four years and during this time my heart started beating top and bottom at the same time giving me the feeling of skipping beats. This does not accure all the time but seems to be happening more often.  I had EKG's taken when this accured and was told the rythem was good and that the top and bottom beats were normal.  Do you agree with this and should I go to another doctor for a second oppinion.

Dear Doug
If you were actually having your symptoms while the EKG was being obtained and it was normal, then you do not have an arrhythmia.
