Actually, our pediatric interventional cardiologists do the coil embolization of the PDAs. The procedure is straightforward, relatively safe and effective. Before deciding to proceed with such a procedure, you would need to undergo a thorough evaluation here in the adult congenital heart disease clinic, where pediatric and adult cardiologists evaluate patients together. You could call 1-800-CCF-CARE and ask for an appointment with Dr. Murphy of pediatric cardiology.
