plavux

I take two plavix a day now and have since 07 is this normal?

It wasn't normal in 2007, but is becoming more common now to be put on plavix for life. It was generally believed that there is no benefit from plavix after a year, but evidence is mounting that shows clots can form quite rapidly if taken off this medication after that time. I'm not sure about 2xplavix pills a day, but I take an aspirin and a plavix, 75mg of each.

  Did you have a heart attack in 07 or how did you happen to get on 2 plavix a day? Did your doctor determine that you risk was so high that he wanted you on Plavix long term, these are the only circumstances that using Plavix long term would be.

The simple answer is what ever works for you is appropriate...dosages are adjusted for each patient.  Your question should be...are there people taking 2 plavix/day?
