please help... i need comments

I ws diagnosed with high blood pressure but as far as i know i dont have it. i had it the day i went to the doctor because i was freaking out. ever since ive tested my blood pressure and its been normal. i do have a vein on my left side of the neck that bulges somewhat when i lean forward or bend down, raise my left arm and i little bit when im eating. i can see that the vein is much more superficial on that side compared to the other side. i say this because i can se where the vein is even when it is flat. also if i put my finger on it then it bulges too as if im blocking it. im pretty sure that this vein drains blood since when i cover the top nothing happens but when i cover the bottom it bulges. ive had two doctors tell me that its my carotid and that i should not worry about it. ive also heard that thin people with bigger neck muscles tend to have this sometimes and its normal. i recently lost weight  and thats around when it happened. i went from 165 to about 153 or so. im in my 20s and have no other symptoms (no chest pain or shortness of breath etc..) or pains. i dont know what this could be but im kind of worried that it could be something to do with the heart. when my physician listen to my heart he said it was normal he also listened to the veins in the neck with the stethoscope. i dont know what to think. please help me out. thanks a lot,

What's your question? Does the doctor think you had white coat hypertension or is the doctor prescribing medications? Two doctors, why have you seen two doctors and not had this sorted out in your mind?

It sounds like you are a bit wound up about all this. It is good that you have ok blood pressure when not at the doctor but you still need your doctor to be the one to manage the issue. Make sure you are completely honest with them. If you're really worried, tell them.

Good luck

Someone, maybe you , asked this question in the doctor forum recently.  They responded that it was nothing to worry about, the vein bulging.  I'm not going to go back and look it up to see the specific answer, but you could.  It was on one of the 3 doctor forums here.  You could very well have white coat hypertension, judging by your anxiety over a neck vein.  You might want to consider doing something about your anxiety.  No one wants to take meds, but I understand that the SSRI class of drugs can be a big help.

my question was if this is something to worry about. it is strange because ive read and seen that the jugular veins go from the clavicle towards the ear but this one goes the opposite direction. like i said i only see it when i do ceratin things and doctors have said not to worry about it but i still do. i dont know what to think anymore i guess i am very stressed about the situation. let me know what you think about the vein.

Like I said, someone already asked this question, so go back and find the answer!  They said, like I already said, that it was NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.  If your doctor already told you not to worry about it, then I don't know what we, non-doctors, could say to make you believe it.
