please help me

im 33 mum to 4 wonderfull children,
13th june 2008 i had a heart attack, was taken to theatre and the test i had there showed my arteries where clear.
while in coronary care i was scanned for blood clots and fragments were found but no actual clots.
im on asprin, ramipril and plavix.
i was on symvastatin aswell but have now been told not to take these anymore as im experiencing pains in my legs, my nurse thought these could be to blame so adviced to refrain from taking them for a couple of weeks.
my father died aged 37 of a heart attack.
up until last week i was taking yasmin contraceptive pill, now my gp as decided this is not a good idea after taking it for the past 2 months!!
now im being advised to have a coil fitted, i dont wish to take this route as i had a coil years ago and got pregnant with it, when the gp removed it i miscarried.
my gp is talking about sending me to be sterilised. i do not want to be sterilised as im with a new husband and he doesnt have any children of his own,
at the moment we are using condoms, ive explained to my gp that id like to experience a pregnancy with my new husband and share the joys of becoming new parents together with his own biological child. (he as taken my 4 kids on and is so wonderfull with them).
is is impossible to go through a pregnancy after the heart attack???
ive improved my health since the heart attack by losing 3 and a half stones, and im always busy as you can imagine with 4 children?
i feel im fitter now than before the heart attack, do you think im being unrealistic? my gp doesnt seem to know if i would be ok to go ahead or not?
i can understand that its easier for my gp to say just to be on the safe side dont get pregnant, however id like to know the real risks involved please and information of who could help advise myself and my husband asap.
thankyou so much for reading my question and i look forward to your reply

i am 38 yrs old and had a heart attack when i was 36. There was no damage to my heart and the blockage was the smallest artery that they didn't even bother to put a stent in.  I am on lipidor, asprin , bisiporol, and norvasc. I have just found out that i am pregnant.. not sure if this is something i should even be considering or not. I have taken myself off the lipidor and am continuing to take the blood pressure meds. Would really appreciate any feedback.

Pregnancy gives the heart a workout.  First of all, when your body makes the 5 pounds of extra blood your blood pressure will go up.  I know my head pounded from it when I was pregnant and currently I show no signs of heart problems yet (we have a strong family history of heart disease).  Also, there will be extra weight and if you get water retention that will be hard on your heart, not to mention if you were to get toxemia which can be fatal.  Pregnancy will definitely be a risk for you.  Also, pregnancy can cause cholesterol in the gallbladder which could mean having to have the gallbladder removed after the baby is born.  How much heart damage do you have from your previous heart attack?  If you do not remember or know, make sure you ask your doctor.
