pneumonia or heart problem

by seasoneddiva1, Feb 25, 2009 01:07PM
I would like to know what type of problem I am having problems with my heart.  I was getting ready to go to church and was attempting to put my arm in my dress and I experienced the worst pain in my chest right under my breast and made me go to the floor and I assumed that it was gas and I took tums and milk of magnesium and I had the same pressure for the last few days.  I had a bad case of the flu and vertigo last month.  Could that be a connection?

This discussion is related to Chest pain (left side).

Unfortunately, pain related to the heart is not easily differentiated from chest pain or discomfort from respiratory, esophogeal, or the chest's skeletal configuration.

Even if the pain does not return tha would not indicate there is no heart problem.  The cause could be the heart muscle from viral infection, medication, etc. or it could be a spasm of the coronary artery that temporarily shut off circulation of oxygenated blood, etc.  Worst case scenario. You should get an evaluation.
