possible apical cardiomyopathy

possible apical cardiomyopathy

Hello,
I am a 38 yo male (pharmacist).  About 6 months ago I experienced chest pain of moderate severity.  Unfortunately, I did not see my Doctor until a couple of weeks later.  An EKG was ordered, and showed isolated t-wave inversion across all leads (EKG normal 2 yr ago).  I still had intermittant pain (at rest).  No pain experienced during my 4 mile runs.  At the time, I was informed I probably had pericarditits.  My CP has continued and the EKG has improved only slightly.  An ultrasound was then performed and suggested apical hypertrophy (EF 80%).  The doctor has postponed my stress test until I see another cardiologist to confirm this diagnosis.  He tells me he is skeptical as it is autosomal dominant and rare outside Japan.  My CP now is not very severe and is usually sharp (spastic) and short-lived.  Sometimes it is dull on the left side in my back.
I am quite an anxious person-Type A (good cholesterol, usually good BP, although it fluctuates)....very adrenergic....flushes very easily??
So what do you think?  Ischemia? or Apical cardiomyopathy?  Pericarditis, whether I had it or not, seems irrelevant in light of the echo abnormality.
Thanks
